Daughter Cards

Every Polaris Prototyping board solution or Appliance offers the ability to add expansion cards that are Altera HSMC specification compliant to model an entire electronic system running at 100+ MHz. In addition to leveraging Altera HSMC daughter card ecosystem, one can implement Polaris-supplied HAPS Adapter card that allows access to the HAPS/Synopsys daughter card ecosystem.

An example of system-level modeling of a Smartphone, using a Polaris Single-FPGA Prototyping board along with 3 HSMC-compliant daughter cards – A custom RF daughter card that models the RF front-end, an off-the-shelf Camera interface daughter card and an off-the-shelf Multimedia LCD Touchpad daughter card is shown below. This prototype of a Smartphone can effectively run at 100+ MHz, whereby the design team can perform meaningful system verification tasks – all this, prior to committing the ASIC/SOC for fabrication.
